When we made our first hemp aprons, we weren’t sure if they’d sell. It seemed
they might be outdated, but those first few aprons flew off the shelf, so we
added more and more, and before long we started wearing them ourselves.
What we have come to understand is that, in this crazy, fast-paced world where
very little has remained the same, people are longing for the simpler times when
our mothers and grandmothers may have worn their aprons when baking, working, or
perhaps to wipe a tear from our cheek. Perhaps your grandfather wore his apron
when he turned wood, did fretwork, or worked at the grill.
Aprons represent a return to the homestead, a return to basic values, a return
to everything that was good about being American. That’s why we call them our
“Back to Basics Aprons.”
